The person responsible for project
management allocates resources, shapes priorities, coordinates
interactions with the clients and users, and generally tries to keep
the project team focused on the right goal. The role also
establishes a set of practices that ensure the integrity and quality
of project artifacts. The role is also responsible for ensuring that
there is an effective change review process. Furthermore, this role
is responsible for the production process itself. This includes
configuring FUP before project startup, and to continuously improve
the process during the project effort.
For a big project, the project can be
divided into sub-projects, each project being a project of its own.
Each sub-project has its own role responsible for the
sub-project's management - "project manager for
sub-project".
